Bring out the Bling

Nina STYLE

I might be a bit late in posting and reacting to this. But I would love to acquire copies of these NINA GARCIA books, and not just reading them in my quiet nook in Fully Booked. These are truly a must-read for every woman. More insight on each book soon!

So Beachy

My recent and short trip to Boracay allowed me to take a few photos of the beach despite my hectic and tight shoot schedule. Here are some photos of the beachfront, breakwater, jetty port and amazing view of Shangrila Boracay.

To Dine For

My obsession shifts from black to white to black to white...over and over again. Perhaps, they are both my favorite colors. (In essence, white is the presence while black is the absence of all colors in the spectrum.) Well, enough with my scientific explanations. Just came across this WHITE dining room that's to die for. I'm getting inspired to design my study or office this way as well! Phillip Starck, you did it again! Applause. :)

Follow the Yellow Brick Road...

Well in this case, it's red and white. Brick walls for home interior spaces are not so common here in the Philippines. I hope to have them when I build my own place one day. Here are some brick inspirations- rooms, accents and uses.

Swimsuit Controversial?

The burquini—a full-coverage swimsuit introduced in 2007 by Lebanese-Australian designer Aheda Zanetti—made headlines recently when it was deemed unhygienic by French officials and banned from a Paris pool. Michele Hlavsa, of Atlanta’s Centers for Disease Control, weighed in on whether the head-to-toe garment does indeed pose a health threat: “It depends on how the burquini is used,” she says. “If it’s worn like a regular swimsuit—you put it on when you get to the pool, and then you go home and change—it’s not really an issue. But if you’re wearing it as street clothes, it can become contaminated with sweat and whatever dirt your clothes would come in contact with during the course of the day, and I would be against using it in the pool.” She adds, “If the fit is too loose, it could also get caught on things and potentially create a drowning hazard.” Photo: Getty Images

I'm Inn Love

I have a fascination for cozy and beautiful inns, boutique hotels and bed&breakfasts. I particularly love the design of Chateau La Rue aka Oak Creek Manor, Tori and Dean's B&B. (Note: I didn't like the show, but the B&B was indeed charming!) The 4 rooms have been POSHED with Dwell bedding, Flavia coffee makers, Votivo candles, Fresh bath products, Olevia 42-inch plasma’s, Private Quarters bath robes, Elixir + Voss beverages, Magaschoni cashmere throws and more. Now that the Chateau is closed and the inn's back to being Oak Creek Manor, check out their website to see the rest of the grounds.

Tori and Dean's new home reflects this charm too:

Pure Shores

More on Turquoise, color of the year...
A recent photo shoot trip led me to Kawayan Cove, Nasugbu. The beach is serene, fresh, soothing and invigorating: just what my 2010 needs.

The water is calm at sunset.

On location, shooting. (Watch out for it!) Here's a sneak peak of our model at sunset. Isn't that light gorgeous?

We "glamped" (aka glamorous camping) at Mango Grove.

This is somewhere you can breathe. Summer's near, people!
